On Planning...And Trusting God

Proverbs 19: 21
Many plans are in a man's heart,
But the counsel of the Lord will stand.

How difficult it can be to remember the truth of this scripture. As much as we may prioritize, pray and make plans, God Himself is faithful to order our steps and make His plans stand. I think of the scripture in Jeremiah that tells us that God watches over His word to perform it in our lives.

The same God who freely gave His own Son freely gives us all things, including His plan, His vision for our lives. Whether it be our careers, our relationships, our families or our nation's leadership, all things must flow through God's hands.

As Christians, we need to be as faithful to seek God in prayer, in His word and in the community of believers. However, we must do so, trusting that ultimately He will make His will known. He rewards those who diligently seek Him.

No need to quarantine Him in matters of planning. He's been the project manager of some pretty major endeavors! :)
